The Classification and Job Evaluation Department administers the four job evaluation programs on behalf of the health sector employers. The job evaluation processes for out-of-scope, SUN and the Provider Unions (CUPE, SEIU-West and SGEU) adheres to the goals of the Government of Saskatchewan Equal pay for Work of Equal Value and Pay Equity Policy Framework.
- The purpose of job evaluation is to objectively and fairly determine the relative value of jobs within an organization.
- Equal pay for work of equal value (pay equity) is achieved through the elimination of gender-based wage discrimination that results in the undervaluation of female-dominated jobs.
- Job evaluation involves a systematic analysis using four gender-neutral criteria: skill, effort, responsibility and working conditions.
The HSAS job evaluation program is a unique education-based classification system that is administered by SAHO.
