SGEU and SAHO Inc. Reach Tentative Collective Agreement
The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union (SGEU) Health Providers Bargaining Unit and the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO Inc.) are pleased to announce that they have reached a tentative six-year collective agreement.
“We are pleased to report that the parties have reached a tentative collective agreement. SAHO recognizes the collaborative efforts of both bargaining committees and thanks them for their work in reaching this agreement that supports employees in delivering quality care to the patients and residents of the province,” said Kelly Miner, Chief Executive Officer.
SGEU President Tracey Sauer commended healthcare workers for their resilience throughout a lengthy and challenging bargaining process. “Reaching this tentative agreement is an important step toward ensuring our members’ voices are heard and their needs are addressed. The dedication, care and professionalism they bring to work every day is exceptional. They deserve an agreement that recognizes the skill and responsibilities that their work demands.”
SGEU represents over 2,000 employees within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Members work in a variety of roles across more than 300 classifications, providing nursing, clerical, lab, diagnostical and support services to Saskatchewan residents.
The tentative six-year agreement would be effective until March 31st, 2029, subject to ratification. Details of the agreement will not be publicly released until the ratification process has been completed.
