SAHO/SUN Bargaining Update – November 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2025
The SAHO Bargaining Committee met with the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN) on November 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2025.
The parties continued to focus on modernizing the collective agreement to better reflect the current configuration of health services across the province. During these sessions, progress was achieved on several key items, including sign-off on Articles related to union recognition and other important language clarifications.
Both committees remain committed to exploring solutions that balance the needs of SUN members with the priorities of the health system.
This round of bargaining represents more than just the renewal of a collective agreement. It is an opportunity for both the Employer and the Union to negotiate system changes that enhance patient care by breaking down barriers created by former health region boundaries, supporting the creation of more full-time nursing positions, advancing provincial programs, and leveraging new technologies to increase access for patients.
Looking ahead, the ongoing modernization of healthcare delivery—including technological innovation and the increasing ability to provide care closer to home—remains a shared focus. Achieving these system goals depends on safe, supportive work environments and an engaged nursing workforce.
The parties look forward to continuing constructive discussions when negotiations resume on December 16, 17, and 18, 2025.
