SAHO/Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) Bargaining Update – January 2026

The SAHO and HSAS bargaining committees met on January 13, 14, and 15, 2026, to continue collective bargaining discussions in a productive and collaborative manner.

The session resulted in agreement on additional provisions related to Article 5 - No Discrimination and Article 23.01 - Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations. The Union also withdrew several proposals, further supporting progress at the table.

The parties further engaged in substantive and solution-oriented discussions on a number of important matters, including Duty to Accommodate, provisions related to the Indigenous workforce, and Occupational Health and Safety. These discussions supported a clearer understanding of each party’s respective priorities and advanced the bargaining process.

SAHO is encouraged by the progress achieved during the January meetings and views the outcomes as a positive indication that the parties are well-positioned to continue making meaningful progress. To support continued advancement, the parties are implementing process enhancements, including a mutually agreed agenda to support preparation for upcoming sessions and further strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of negotiations.

Looking ahead, the parties confirmed an additional 26 bargaining dates in 2026, demonstrating a shared commitment to maintaining strong momentum and continuing to advance negotiations in a timely manner.

SAHO remains committed to a thoughtful, constructive, and principled bargaining process that reflects the evolving needs of Saskatchewan’s healthcare system while maintaining appropriate flexibility to support employees, patients, clients, and residents across Saskatchewan.

The next bargaining session is scheduled to take place in Regina on February 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2026.
