SAHO and SEIU-West Reach Agreement re Meadow Lake Primary Health Care Clinic

A five-year collective agreement between the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations Inc. (SAHO) and the Service Employees International Union-West (SEIU-West) has been ratified by the board of the Prairie North Regional Health Authority and employees of the Meadow Lake Primary Health Care Clinic.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with SEIU-West that addresses important issues for clinic employees, and ensures that consistent care and quality programs and services continue,” said Doug Forseth, CEO, SAHO.

“Prairie North is also pleased that a collective agreement has been achieved with the Meadow Lake clinic support staff who are members of SEIU-West. They are valuable members of the Primary Health Care team that continues to deliver quality patient-first care and service to Meadow Lake and area residents,” said Vikki Smart, PNRHA Vice President of Primary Health Services.

SEIU-West represents over 11,500 members including clerical staff, caretakers, licensed practical nurses, among others. The five year agreement is effective May 1, 2013 to March 31, 2018 and includes a $250 lump sum payment in year one, two and three, a 1.95% increase in year four. Year five will be consistent with the monetary terms achieved for the SAHO/SEIU-West Collective Bargaining Agreement for the similar time period. Benefits are also included.
The ratification of the agreement follows the signing of a tentative Memorandum of Agreement on August 23, 2016.

The Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations Inc. (SAHO) is a non-profit, non-government association responsible for providing collective bargaining, labour relations and classification/job evaluation services to health regions, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and affiliated agencies throughout the province.
