SAHO and Cancer Agency Reach Agreement with SGEU

A four-year collective agreement between the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations Inc. (SAHO) and the Cancer Agency has been reached with the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union (SGEU). Ratification by all parties was achieved August 13, 2015.

 “We engaged in the collective bargaining process and are pleased to have reached an agreement that benefits employees and ensures continued quality patient care, programs and services,” said Doug Forseth, CEO of SAHO.  

SGEU represents over 650 Cancer Agency employees, including radiation therapists, oncology pharmacists and registered nurses, among others.

The four-year agreement is effective April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2018, and includes yearly pay rate increases of 1.5%, 1.5%, 1.55% and 1.95%. There were also increases to premium and standby rates.

The Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations Inc. (SAHO) is a non-profit, non-government association responsible for providing collective bargaining, labour relations and classification/job evaluation services to health regions, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and affiliated agencies throughout the province.
